A deepening crisis of capitalism's global "Casino Economy,"
the intensifying impacts of climate change and deindustrialization, and the
rise of positive new integrated movements for social and environmental change
have spurred This course is intended to weave together theory and practice—looking at both the nature of this intensifying crisis of capitalism while surveying some of the most dynamic new movements for economic change—through the prism of work and the role of education (broadly defined) in implementing a Green New Deal in the North American context. Primary student work will involve a final term paper, a mini-review, and collaborative class presentation. [[[ Readings on this page may be
